Lydia McWherter is a Korean-American Creative Director in Denver, Colorado, specializing in brand marketing, strategy, and graphic design. As a first-generation college graduate, Lydia is driven by resilience and a commitment to excellence, consistently viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Lydia launched her career in 2011 after earning a degree in Communication Design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, initially working on freelance projects for small businesses and startups. Her experience quickly diversified: she joined the nationally recognized multi-family company Aimco in 2012 as a contract graphic designer, then served as a Marketing Coordinator at the Lewis Roca law firm starting in 2013, where her strategic thinking and marketing skillset flourished. A graphic design role at PorchLight Real Estate Group in 2015 ignited her enduring passion for the real estate industry.

She joined Oakwood Homes in 2017, quickly advancing from Graphic Designer to Director of Brand and Creative by 2021. Her expertise and leadership have been instrumental in establishing Oakwood Homes' success as a trusted home builder, driving impactful brand and marketing campaigns. She leads her dynamic team of graphic designers with an empathetic, collaborative, and authentic approach, expertly balancing creative vision with strategic business goals to ensure every project aligns with the company’s objectives and enhances the customer experience.

Beyond the office, Lydia is committed to giving back, participating in industry conferences and portfolio reviews to mentor and inspire emerging talent. She has contributed her design expertise to community projects, including the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway and the Rocky Mountain Accounting Conference, and has volunteered with the Art Directors Club of Denver. As a cancer survivor, Lydia is dedicated to living with zest, passion, and purpose. She actively supports Endometrial Cancer Research and participates in awareness events. She believes professional achievements are one facet of a fulfilling life; in her downtime, she enjoys traveling, photography, candlemaking, exploring coffee shops, meditating, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and two dogs in nature.
